Louise sings…Dad plays
Danish Film Songs from the 1930’s and 40’s revisited and much more!
Louise interprets movie “evergreens” (Danish wood for hits!) in cabaret style. Songs that were originally premiered by singing stars Liva Weel, Karen Jønsson, Marguerite Viby, and others, are given a new life by being sung and interpreted in two languages. The recreation of the original Danish lyrics into English is by Louis. There will also be audience participation in the form of a sing-along in the same genre, so clear your throat and join the fun! (Program is in English & Danish)
As in American experience, Danish popular musical theater blossomed in the transition from vaudeville and musicals to sound movies. What had been the prerogative of the affluent became affordable for the ordinary folk. Louise recreates some of the best songs from this “golden age of popular music”.
