Learning for All

The Northwest Danish Foundation embraces the Grundtvigian tradition of education and learning for all.

Annually, we operate Danish language camps for children offering both day and residential options.  The Danish folkschool movement provides inspiration for the Foundation’s annual Himmelbjerget Camp for teens and summer day camp for young children and for the historical and cultural lectures, presentations, and exhibits sponsored by the Foundation.

Additionally, each year the Foundation awards scholarships to young men and women who reside in either Washington or Oregon for their education studying Danish language and literature, arts and crafts, history and political science.  For over 16 years, our scholarship awards make educational dreams a reality.
