The Northwest Danish Foundation is at a critical juncture in the organization's 83 year history; faltering enthusiasm amongst members has resulted in declining membership, stagnation, and financial instability due to operating losses that have incurred over the last several years.

Change is necessary to preserve our legacy for future generations, and the time for change is now! In May 2007 the Board and Executive Committee authorized the formation of a Transition Team, which now functions as an advisory committee to the Board. "The team" has studied the current state of the NWDF in depth and from all points of view and has offered recommendations to the Board that will help create the "cornerstone" and first building blocks necessary to effect this change.

The Executive Committee along with the Transition Team, have been busy these past few months working in a collaborated effort to identify and resolve the many challenges that currently face the Northwest Danish Foundation.

Change is often difficult to implement, particularly with an organization the size and diversity of the Northwest Danish Foundation; however we are optimistic that with the support of our membership it can be done.

The Transition Team and Board are developing a plan for the future of our organization. This is an opportunity for our membership and the Danish communities to learn more about our plan and to bring forth suggestions in this informal social gathering of friends and members of the Northwest Danish Foundation.
