The Northwest Danish Foundation is proud to help support Bazookahosen as they tour the Northwest.
Bazookahosen was formed by a group of friends in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1998. Coming from diverse musical backgrounds the five band members set out to create their own brand of music and the outcome is an ever changing blend of genres from blues to noise jazz with a gypsy flavor. Their music has been called anything from thrash noir to modern-primitive, wobble jazz and alternative folk-rock. The influences are many and the music is indeed hard to label. Besides playing concerts in local clubs and theaters, the band has composed and performed music for two modern dance pieces with a subsequent appearance on national Danish television and touring in Denmark, Sweden and South Africa. In 2004 and 2005 Bazookahosen visited the US to perform at festivals and venues in West Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana. This year the band will visit the Northwest of the US playing concerts in Oregon and Washington.
Bazookahosen released their self entitled debut CD in September 2003. The follow-up album “Asfalt” was released in November 2005. Both albums are on the band’s own label Cookie Tin Records.
