Fukssvansen

Fukssvansen (Chop Chop)

Danish Comedy with English Subtitles, Rating: PG-13, Starring Birthe Neumann

Popcorn and snacks will be provided.  Cost of admission $5.00 per person.

A zany comedy that comes across like the Danes attempting a Coen Brothers farce, "Chop Chop (Fukssvansen)" makes little sense but wins viewers over with silly characters, implausible setups and worthwhile payoffs.  Two dimwitted brothers in need of a woman, dream of a better life but are hog-tied by an obnoxious housemate and nosy neighbors. When the roommate dies and the woman they take in begins to assert herself, the brothers believe their ship has finally come in--until the obsessive neighbor and the woman's vengeful ex-boyfriend make their own plans clear. In between, a number of clever contrivances and slapstick set pieces delivered with a rapid pace (involving swapping partners, dead bodies, fireworks and a giant pike named Iron Hans who eats toes) keep the audience rooting for our dumb-and-dumber heroes in this stylish romp.
