The Seattle Happy Danes have an exciting October trip lined up!  We will stop at Remlinger Farms to enjoy their Fall Pumpkin Harvest Tour and then off to the Red Hook Brewery for lunch and a tour.  The cost is $20 per person plus money for lunch.  The bus leaves from the Meridian Office Building promptly at 9am!  Please RSVP by Wednesday, October 18th to Amber Knox, 206.523.3263 or amber@nwdanish.org.

Remlinger Farms - Tour 10:00AM

  • Take a ride on our authentic 20 foot long, four ton steam-train which winds around fields, forests, and crops. The scenic trip takes you along the Tolt River and past 4-H animal enclosures.

  • Get acquainted with the pigs, goats, sheep, alpacas, chickens, geese, ducks, peacocks, doves and ponies in our 4-H Barnyard.  Feel the soft rabbits.  Listen to the sheep baa and the donkeys bray.  (Note:  Hand washing stations are provided outside of the animal petting areas -- please use them to do your part to protect yourself and your children from potential exposure to e. coli, a naturally occurring bacteria which is always potentially present with live animals).

  • Talk through an authentically furnished pioneer home.  Listen to our own Pioneer Woman explain how the first settlers survived in the West.

  • At the end of the tour, each person chooses their own pumpkin to take home (adults have the option of choosing a coupon to be redeemed in our Direct Farm Market.

Red Hook Brewery - Lunch 12:00PM & Tour 2:00PM

Consumer thirst for specialty beers caused an increase in demand, which drove the growth of the microbrewery industry.  In order to respond to this development, Redhook made a commitment to brew enough beer to satisfy the burgeoning demand.  In July 1994, Redhook completed its second brewery in Woodinville, Wa, 20 miles east of Seattle.  The beautiful facility features expansive grounds and the Forecasters Public House, where you can indulge in all of the Redhook Ales and pub-style meals.  For more information or to view the lunch menu go to http://www.redhook.com.
