Hannah has a lukewarm existence in the church choir, a half-hearted marriage and a lack of enthusiasm for life in general. That is, until the Reverend Jackson, on tour with his gospel choir from the U.S., ends up staying in Hannah's very provincial town and is invited to help run her ailing choir. Old skeletons come tumbling out of the closet, never to return, and nothing is ever quite the same again…especially not for Hannah.
